UNITY: Urban Networks to Increase Thriving Youth Through Violence Prevention

Partners

UNITY’s lead partners are Prevention Institute, the Harvard School of Public Health, and the UCLA Southern California Injury Prevention Research Center.

Prevention Institute is a national center dedicated to improving community health and well-being by building momentum for effective primary prevention. Prevention Institute provides training, technical assistance, research, and evaluation for coalitions, community-based organizations, government agencies and private foundations to establish effective prevention programs and policies. Prevention Institute develops tools and other materials to support the crafting, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive prevention initiatives and effective coalitions.

The SCIPRC develops and supports a multi-disciplinary academic and community effort with the goal of discovering and understanding patterns of injury occurrence in high-risk populations and controlling the incidence and consequences of these injuries.

HSPH offers degree programs at the Masters and Doctorate level for public health professionals in the biomedical sciences, the behavioral sciences, and in health policy and management.  The overarching mission of the Harvard School of Public Health is to advance the public's health through learning, discovery, and communication.
