The national context for teen dating violence (TDV) prevention policy has changed in recent years. Catapulted by advocacy efforts and growing public awareness, a greater number of anti-domestic violence organizations, health care providers, policy-makers, funders and others are engaged in a range of actions to prevent TDV, from community engagement and education to public policy and institutional practice change. We stand at a unique moment of opportunity to get updated and educated about what we can do to prevent TDV through policy change at the state and local levels in California.
Please join the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence (CPEDV) for a panel presentation on advancing TDV prevention in California through state and local policy change. The objectives of the panel are to:
- Convene a network of local and state organizations interested in advancing TDV prevention in California through state and local policy change.
- Share information about the national and state context for addressing TDV and emerging opportunities for TDV prevention through state and local policy change.
Participants will learn about these issues through:
- A panel presentation, including Eric Anderson, Break the Cycle; Nancy Bagnato, California Department of Public Health; Tatiana Colón, Family Violence Law Center; Mikel Crumble, Peace Over Violence; Debbie Lee, Family Violence Prevention Fund; and Abby Sims, Peace Over Violence
- Question and answer sessions
- Peer networking
- Resource materials
