California Adolescent Nutrition and Fitness Program (CANFit)
CANFit is a nonprofit organization that works throughout California to engage communities and build their capacity to improve nutrition and physical activity among multi-ethnic adolescents. CANFit provides statewide training, technical assistance and leadership development for community and after-school programs.

California Food Policy Advocates
California Food Policy Advocates is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of low-income Californians by increasing their access to nutritious and affordable food. As California's only statewide anti-poverty program with a focus on hunger and malnutrition among low-income people, CFPA employs a variety of strategies to develop and implement public policies that recognize the value of adequate nutrition and its fundamental contribution to good health and development, education and productivity.

California Pan-Ethnic Health Network (CPEHN)
CPEHN is a statewide network of multicultural health organizations working together to improve health care access and eliminate health status disparities in California's communities of color. The mission of CPEHN is to promote changes to health policy decision-making and health care delivery systems that improve the health status of our diverse communities. Through a collaborative process with its partners in the African American, Asian and Pacific Islander, Latino and Latina, and Native American communities, CPEHN monitors, analyzes, and informs health care policies, legislation, and business strategies.

California Project LEAN
California Project LEAN works with state and local physical activity and nutrition leaders to conduct statewide programs such as the Food on the Run program, which trains teens on healthy eating and physical activity. Project LEAN also prepares leaders to serve as policy change agents in their schools and communities.

California WIC Association (CWA)
California WIC Association is a nonprofit organization formed by directors of local WIC agencies to represent all parties interested in the operation of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). CWA activities include federal, state and local WIC reform and capacity-building to improve the health and nutrition environment for low-income women, infants and children.

Center for Public Health Advocacy
The Center for Public Health Advocacy is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness about critical public health issues and mobilizing communities to support the establishment of needed policies and programs in California. The Center led a statewide effort to implement nutrition standards for competitive foods in schools and operates a program to train and support community residents to influence local legislation.

Child Care Food Program Roundtable
The mission of the Child Care Food Program Roundtable is to promote health and well-being of children in child care through providing leadership and advocating for an enhanced and expanded CCFP. The Roundtable brings together sponsors of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CCFP), along with state and federal administrators into a statewide network. The Roundtable is dedicated to the ideals of high quality meals and nutrition education in the child care setting. The Roundtable also works to assure high standards of program integrity at every level.

Latino Health Access
Latino Health Access (LHA) is a non-profit organization that takes a unique, holistic, and positive approach to working with medically under-served communities. LHA strives to achieve its goals by promoting health, preventing disease, and improving access to safe health care. While LHA's emphasis has been on the Latino community in Orange County, California, LHA also assists other under-served communities around the nation by providing direct services or by helping other organizations replicate LHA's process.

Prevention Institute
Prevention Institute is a nonprofit, national center dedicated to improving community health and well-being by building momentum for effective primary prevention. Primary prevention means taking action to build resilience and to prevent problems before they occur. The Institute's work is characterized by a strong commitment to community participation and promotion of equitable health outcomes among all social and economic groups. Since its founding in 1997, the organization has focused on nutrition and physical activity, injury and violence prevention, traffic safety, health disparities, and youth development.

Samuels & Associates
Samuels & Associates, Inc. is a health research, policy and evaluation consulting firm created by Dr. Sarah Samuels. It specializes in strategic planning, program development and multi-site program evaluation in the areas of health promotion and disease prevention; specific areas of expertise span women's health, nutrition and fitness, community health, and policy issues in public health.
