Getting Started with the ENACT Local Policy Database:We hope that getting started with the ENACT Local Policy Database will be fast and easy. Searching for a Local Policy There are 2 ways to search for a local policy: 1) The Simple Search or 2) The Guided Search Simple Search Start with the simple search if you have some ideas about the kinds of policies you are looking for. This is basically a keyword search that allows you to either search through actual policy documents or through our entire database. Here’s how you do it:
If any results are generated for your search, a list of policies related to the search terms you entered will appear. For example if you entered the terms above, local policiesproposing soda bans in schools will appear. Still not finding what you are looking for? Try the Guided Search below. The Guided Search Start with The Guided Search if you have one or more criteria you would like to use to narrow your search from the outset. Here’s how you do it: Use the drop down menus to select from pre-determined search criteria listed in the left column under Guided Search. You can make a selection from one or more of the drop down menus as you wish. For example, if you want to see what measures have been undertaken in nutrition at the school district level, you can select Nutrition and School Districts in the drop down menus. Or if you are interested in all the policies passed in 2000, just select the year 2000 from the YEAR ENACTED drop down menu. After you hit go, you’ll see the policies that fit your interests. From here, access the actual policies and adapt them to fit your needs. |
