TAKING ACTION FOR A HEALTHIER CALIFORNIA: Recommendations to Improve Healthy Food and Activity Options

The Strategic Alliance is pleased to present Taking Action for a Healthier California, which identifies concrete steps that business and government can take to create healthier places to live and work.

The Taking Action Toolkit below was designed to help you advocate for the Taking Action Recommendations in your community. The toolkit can be used to encourage organizations, coalitions and government entities to officially endorse the recommendations.

Why Endorse Taking Action--Use this document to make a case for the Taking Action Recommendations. It outlines three key reasons to endorse this set of recommendations and take up the banner to advance lasting solutions that improve community food and activity environments across California.

Taking Action Web-based Forum Archive

Taking Action Web Forum Slides (PDF)--On August 23rd, Strategic Alliance’s interactive Taking Action Web Forum engaged at least 75 people representing approximately 50 sites across the State. The interactive technology allowed for more voices to be heard, and resulted in a lively and informative dialogue around opportunities for moving forward a policy and environmental change agenda.
