“Principles of Prevention” Online CDC Course

Principles of Prevention is an online course offered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that provides an introduction to basic public health concepts as they apply to preventing violence. The course describes core public health principles, provides an overview of risk and protective factors for violence, and underscores the need to alter the physical and social environment-not just the individual-to prevent violence. The 3rd Annual NNHVIP National Conference will take place in Oakland, CA April 28-29, 2011. This year's  focus is on Best Practices in Hospital-based Violence Intrvention Programs.

  • Individuals (physicians, nurses, hospital administrators, nonprofit leaders and representatives of organizations considering starting up a program
