Andrea Buffa is the communications director at Prevention Institute. She works to amplify the work of PI and its partners to help create and sustain communities that foster health, safety, wellbeing, and equity. Andrea has more than 20 years of experience doing communications for nonprofit organizations on topics as diverse as housing, climate change, human rights, and healthcare. Her writing has been published in the San Francisco Chronicle, Los Angeles Times, San Diego Union Tribune, Grist, Triple Pundit, Alternet, California Progress Report, East Bay Express, San Francisco Bayview, and Race, Poverty and the Environment, among others. Most recently she served as the communications director for the Kaiser Permanente Labor Management Partnership. Andrea has a B.A. from Yale University and an M.S.W. from U.C. Berkeley. She also graduated from the Kaiser Permanente Improvement Institute.
