In the predominantly Latino city of Chula Vista, California, the local school district has opened its green space to the youth soccer league through a successful joint use agreement. Through this partnership—initiated by the commissioner of the youth soccer league—the league has access to the school's playing fields on evenings and weekends. Not only do thousands of youth athletes benefit from increased physical activity, but the agreement also creates a sense of community and inspires parents and families to remain engaged in their children's activities. Below are video success stories capturing the Chula Vista joint use agreement, available in both English and Spanish.
