Surgeon General to Release the National Prevention Council Action Plan in Sacramento; Stakeholder phone call following, Wednesday, 6/13

Last week, we informed you about tomorrow’s historic release of The National Prevention Council Action Plan with U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. Regina Benjamin. It’s not too late to join Department of Health and Human Services Region IX, in collaboration with Secretary Diana Dooley of the California Health and Human Services Agency, The California Endowment and Prevention Institute. For those who can't make it to Sacramento, there will be a stakeholder call following the event to update you on the National Prevention Council Action Plan.

The Action Plan details the next steps in the federal implementation of the National Prevention Strategy, which presents an unprecedented opportunity to shift the nation from a focus on sickness and disease to one based on prevention, health and well-being, and equity.
