March 19 Webinar: New Year, New Efforts and Opportunities to Advance Prevention and Population Health

2015 brings renewed efforts and opportunities to strengthen prevention and population health – including working with an expanded list of multi-sector partners and policymakers to ensure greater awareness and reach.  A host of initiatives across the country – from efforts funded by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to private/public partnerships – are constructing a strong foundation for healthier communities, and building a culture of health.

Prevention measures that restrict tobacco  consumption or require the use of seat belts save lives—and money. But that money rarely gets used to fund new prevention efforts. In a paper published by the Institute of Medicine, PI’s Larry Cohen and The California Endowment’s Anthony Iton argue that we need to “close the loop” by ensuring that we invest and reinvent in prevention.
