Over the last 15 years, Prevention Institute (PI) has been on a journey that is taking us beyond the work of understanding and documenting health inequities towards an emphasis on operationalizing racial justice for improved health, safety, and well being. Funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Beyond COVID-19 Recovery: Advancing a System of Prevention for Racial Justice and Health Equity proposes that this point in history should be the catalyst to drive systemic change toward a racially just and equitable future.
Along this journey, PI has prioritized the importance of sharing and learning together across projects to build our collective intelligence as part of our own internal process. Through this discussion and learning series we offer the opportunity to broaden this work and extend our ongoing learning outside our organization.
PI will facilitate a three-part, bi-monthly learning series:
Session 1 – The role of public health in social justice movements
Session 2 – Cultivating stronger community-based partnerships and power sharing.
Session 3 – Adopting a narrative transformation strategy for policy and systems change
