Summary

Prevention Institute and Tony Iton, MD, as Director of the Alameda Department of Public Health, prepared this report for the Institute of Medicine's Roundtable on Health Disparities to identify policy solutions at the community, regional and state level to reduce inequities in health and safety. Recommendations are made in four key areas: community, health care, systems, and overarching, and are complemented by successful examples.
