Join us for Stategic Alliance's annual grassroots advocacy day! ENACT Day is a day-long training and advocacy event held in Sacramento where community leaders, youth, and advocates come together to promote policies that improve nutrition and opportunities for physical activity.
The day will provide participants with:
- Training on how to educate policymakers about the key nutrition and physical activity issues affecting your communities.
- Meetings with legislators to share knowledge and experience about what needs to change.
- Key networking opportunities with other community leaders and statewide organizations.

Together we will highlight the urgent need for improvements to California's nutrition and physical activity environments, and remind policymakers that investing in health and safety now will benefit us all. Just announced, the 2012 ENACT Day Legislative Agenda features:
- Health and Equity in Transportation Planning (AB 441)
- Removing Sports Drinks from Schools (AB 1746)
- Reducing Stigma from School Lunch Participation (AB 1781)
- Protecting Physical Fitness Testing (Budget Item)
Who: Parents, youth, community leaders, and health, recreation, and transportation professionals
When: Wednesday, May 16th, 2011, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Morning session: St. John's Lutheran Church, 1701 L Street, Sacramento
Afternoon session: State Capitol, 10th Street and Capital Mall

Last year, over 150 participants came from across the state to learn, share, and network with advocates working to improve food and activity environments. Be part of the network, and engage with other leaders.
