Lessons Along the Journey Taking Action Toward Racial Justice in Public Health Systems
In this video Prevention Institute's Sheila Savannah, La’Quana Williams, Xavier Lofton, and Madison Do Linh facilitate the first session of a three-part bi-monthly learning and discussion series. They share preliminary learnings and reflections across PI’s projects that are rooted in racial justice.
Following an analysis of the social justice roots of the field of public health, the PI team examines how racial and social justice movements have impacted public health outcomes, and how the field intends to realign itself with those roots.
The webinar concludes with an honest dialogue between Prevention Institute staff members Sana Chehimi and Ruben Cantu who discuss the organization’s growth and its goals for the future.
