Advancing Funder Learning and Collaboration
Advancing Funder Learning and Collaboration
We partner with funder collaboratives and learning communities to support shared learning, alignment, and accountability in advancing prevention, health equity, and racial justice. By bringing funders together around a shared vision and coordinated approaches, this work helps move philanthropy beyond isolated investments toward acting collectively on complex, systems-level challenges. Through facilitation, strategic guidance, and technical support, we strengthen funder learning and collaboration so strategies and investments are aligned in service of upstream, equity-centered change.
Convergence Partnership
Multiple Funders * | 2007-2024 | National
From 2007 to 2024 we served as the long-term strategic advisors for the Convergence Partnership, a national funder collaborative focused on aligning philanthropic resources and influence to advance racial justice and health equity. Working under the leadership of the Partnership’s program directors, we played a central role in strategy development, learning design, and coordination.
Our role included facilitating funder learning and collaboration; producing field-facing research and analysis to guide practitioner and funder practice; and supporting narrative implementation to advance shared language and framing around equity and prevention. We also supported efforts to strengthen federal engagement in community prevention and equity practice and provided technical assistance to five regional funder partnerships across the country.
* Convergence partners have changed over time and have included: Ascension Health; Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo; Conrad N. Hilton Foundation; Elevated Chicago; Health Forward Foundation; Kaiser Permanente; Kansas Health Foundation; Nemours; Robert Wood Johnson Foundation; Rockefeller Foundation; Sierra Health Foundation; Stupski Foundation; The California Endowment; The Chicago Community Trust; the Kresge Foundation; and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
California Funders Workgroup on Prevention and Equity

Participating members have included Blue Shield of California Foundation, The California Endowment, The California Wellness Foundation, Sierra Health Foundation, St. Joseph Fund, and Well Being Trust. Through facilitation, technical assistance, and policy analysis, we support the Workgroup to clarify shared priorities, align strategies, develop collective policy and advocacy statements, and coordinate investments that address inequities in health, safety, and wellbeing.
